Eleven cozy words we collected on our travels
Taylor and I keep catching words that don't quite translate. The Dutch gezellig, when a kitchen is warm because the people in it are warm. The Swedish gökotta, when you wake on purpose to hear the birds. The Turkish kahvaltı, when breakfast is slow because the company is good.
So we made a poster for each, plus two of our own (small joys, glimmers), the things we built RoHaus around. Print them, set one as your phone wallpaper, give your class a word of the day. Whatever helps you live a little of them.
what's on the posters
Eleven posters. Here are four we keep coming back to.
Hygge
Denmark. Cozy hangouts and good vibes. Sitting with friends, sharing food, laughing, feeling safe together.
Fika
Sweden. A deliberate break for coffee and something sweet. The kind that ends with everyone still sitting there an hour later.
Gökotta
Sweden. Waking early on purpose to hear the birds sing. A whole word for a whole morning.
Glimmers
RoHaus. The small joys, the tiny moments of cozy you find in the magic of the everyday. One of two we added ourselves.
