What exactly is Long Story Long?
A slow-living publication from two lifelong friends, Alex and Taylor. Long letters, voice notes, and travel tales from our corners of the world, sent monthly and free to read. It lives on Substack and lands in your inbox. RoHaus & Co. is the small Netherlands-based company behind it.
What does slow living mean to you?
Taking the long way home on purpose. For us, slow living means letting things take longer: long letters, conversations that wander, rituals that take time, and objects you can hold. Long Story Long is where we write about it, once a month and free to read.
How long does shipping take?
Everything in the shop is made when you order it, which takes 2 to 5 business days. Then shipping: usually 3 to 8 business days in the Netherlands and the EU, 5 to 10 to the UK, and 3 to 5 in the US and Canada, where the order is made locally. The full shipping policy has costs, tracking, and what happens if a parcel goes missing.
What do free subscribers get?
The monthly Tale (a long letter), Taking the Long Way Home photos and tales between issues, and audio teasers now and then. Free, always, straight to your email.
What do paid subscribers get?
Everything free readers get, plus the Cozy Corner Post audio season: a new audio letter every month with a printable PDF transcript, bonus behind-the-scenes tracks, monthly journaling prompts, and the full back library of past letters. Paid subscriptions switch on in October 2026.
What is Cozy Corner Post?
Our paper letters, back in real mailboxes. Every month one double-sided print card arrives with a real stamp on it: seasonal art on one side, a Honing Your Hygge ritual on the other, mailed through StampFans. Season 1 opens with the first envelopes on September 15. The Cozy Corner Post page has the full how-it-works.
What does pledging mean, and when am I charged?
A pledge saves your seat before paid subscriptions exist. You pick an amount and save your card, and nothing is charged today. When we turn on paid subscriptions in October, your pledge becomes a subscription automatically and Substack emails you the moment it does. You can change your mind anytime before then.
How much will it cost?
You set your own pledge amount, and we confirm season pricing when the doors open in October. Nothing converts above what you offered. If our price lands higher than your pledge, we ask first.
What is Paper Trails?
50 conversation cards in a travel-ready tin, made for tables, trains, and campfires. It launches on Kickstarter later this year. Save your spot on the Paper Trails page and we'll write the moment it goes live.
Do I need a Substack account or the app?
No app needed. The letters arrive by email, and an account gets made from your email address when you subscribe or pledge. The app is nice for the audio, but never required.
Can I cancel? Can I gift a subscription?
Both, anytime. Subscriptions and pledges are managed from your Substack account with a couple of clicks, no questions asked. And yes, Substack lets you gift a paid subscription to someone you love.
